MWDOC Selected for $100,000 in Federal Funding to Advance Regional Water Conservation Planning
“This competitive grant highlights MWDOC’s leadership in regional water conservation and proactive planning for a more resilient water future,” said Robert R. McVicker, P.E., MWDOC Board President. “This grant will benefit not only our member agencies, but also local businesses and institutions as they work to become better water stewards.”
Phase II builds on the groundwork laid in Phase I and advances MWDOC’s mission to provide reliable, high-quality water and promote water-use efficiency through public education, technical assistance, and strategic partnerships. This initiative supports water efficiency through the development of CII Best Management Practices (BMP) Implementation Plans and classifying commercial sector water customers. Grant funding reduces participation costs for MWDOC member agencies, making this critical technical assistance program more accessible.
“We’re honored to be selected for this funding opportunity and to continue our work promoting sustainable water use,” said Rachel Waite-Harvey, MWDOC Water Use Efficiency Programs Supervisor. “This grant will help expand our efforts to plan and implement conservation programs that support MWDOC’s member agencies and Orange County businesses.”
Since 2001, MWDOC has secured over $40 million in grant funding to benefit the region and strengthen regional water supply reliability.
