To bridge the gap between education and employment, the Water Energy Education Alliance (WEEA) hosted its first Education to Workforce Tour in partnership with The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the San Diego County Water Authority, the Linda Vista Innovation Center, and the Center for Water Studies
This hands-on tour demonstrated how K-12 education and specialized training programs are shaping the next generation of water professionals. Here are six (6) key insights:
- Early Exposure Matters: Career exploration at a young age inspires interest and readiness. This tour connected industry leaders and educators to showcase clear career pathways from elementary school to workforce.
- Hands-On Learning Works: At the Linda Vista Innovation Center, students engage in career exploration through interactive programs aligned with their strengths and interests using the RIASEC framework —boosting confidence and problem-solving skills.
