Water Inspection Trips
Where Does Our Water Come From?
Orange County gets only half of its water from local sources like groundwater and recycled water. The rest is imported from the Colorado River and Northern California.
Each year, local leaders plan inspection trips to major water facilities across California. Hosted by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC), these hands-on tours offer a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of water supply, water quality, conservation, and more.
The goal? To build water-smart communities by sparking informed conversations and inspiring wise decisions about our most vital resource—water.
