Office of Director, Division 3
Please take notice of the vacancy in the office of Director of Division 3 of the Municipal Water District of Orange County (“MWDOC”). This vacancy results from the resignation of Director Wayne S. Osborne, effective April 22, 2019.
Pursuant to Water Code Section 71254 and Government Code Section 1780, the Board of Directors of MWDOC had determined to fill the vacancy in the office of Division 3 by appointment. Any person interested in being considered for appointment to this office must submit a letter of interest and/or resume to MWDOC no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the following address, fax, or email:

To be eligible for appointment to the office of Director of Division 3, an interested person must be a registered voter and a resident of Division 3 at the time of the appointment. The rule against holding incompatible offices will apply to this appointment. Division 3 generally includes all or a portion of the Cities of Cypress, Fountain Valley, Los Alamitos, Stanton and Westminster, portions of the Cities of Garden Grove and La Palma, and also unincorporated areas that include the “Midway City,” “Rossmoor” and “Southwest Anaheim” communities. Division 3 residency’ can be confirmed by the Orange County Registrar of Voters at (714) 567-7600.
The MWDOC Board of Directors plans to interview potential Division 3 appointees at a Special Meeting of the Board on May 21, 2019 at beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the MWDOC office Conference Room 101. The Board anticipates that a final decision on the appointment will be made on or before the MWDOC regular Board meeting scheduled for June 19, 2019 at 8:30 a.m., although it reserves all rights to make the appointment on any date consistent with the law.
The Division 3 vacancy on the MWDOC Board of Directors will be filled by appointment within sixty days. Any candidate who wishes to be considered for the position must be a registered voter and reside within the Division 3 service area.
