MWDOC is proud to partner with Girl Scouts of Orange County to offer the Water Resources and Conservation Patch Program. Girl Scouts of all ages can earn a patch by completing a 2-hour, STEM-based clinic. The Water Resources and Conservation Patch Program educates Girl Scouts about where their water comes from, the importance of Orange County water resources, and how to be water efficient.

There are two remaining patch clinics this spring – April 6 at the Bolsa Chica Conservancy and April 13 at Santa Margarita Water District. Additional opportunities to host a patch clinic will be available soon! To learn more visit, www.mwdoc.com/GirlScouts.

WATER RESOURCES AND CONSERVATION PATCH

Produced jointly by the Municipal Water District of Orange County and Girl Scouts of Orange County

PATCH PROGRAM OVERVIEW

What?

The Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) and the Girl Scouts of Orange County (GSOC) have partnered to develop the Water Resources and Conservation Patch Program for Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scout levels.

How?

Girl Scouts of all ages can earn a Water Resources and Conservation Patch by completing a 2-hour, STEM-based clinic hosted by MWDOC. Clinic lessons and activities align with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and meet the GSOC patch program objectives to Learn, Share, Do.

Why?

The Water Resources and Conservation Patch Program is designed to educate Girl Scouts about where their water comes from, the importance of Orange County water resources, and how to be water efficient. Girl Scouts will complete the program equipped with a better understanding of their local water supply sources, and will discover the value of protecting our most treasured, natural resource.
