Term: 2022 - 2026

Larry D. Dick was elected to the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) Board of Directors in November 2000. He represents Division 2, which includes portions of East Orange County Water District, portions of Garden Grove, portions of Golden State Water Co., and portions of Irvine Ranch Water District, Orange, and Serrano Water District.

Director Dick has been active in the Orange County water community since the 1990s when he was first selected as a board member of the Serrano Water District and SWD Recreation, Inc., which governed recreation activities at Irvine Lake and provides water for Villa Park and a portion of East Orange. He is a member of the Association of California Water Agencies and the Water Advisory Committee of Orange County, which he has chaired. Director Dick has also worked to protect Orange County’s special districts, serving on the Executive Committee of the Independent Special Districts of Orange County and as a board member of the Urban Water Institute.

Director Dick served on the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s Board of Directors from 2003 through 2025, where he helped guide the region through an era of historic challenges, major policy decisions, and evolving water-resource demands. With 22 years of continuous service, he became MWDOC’s longest-tenured Metropolitan representative and was recognized as the Dean of the District’s delegation. At Metropolitan, he chaired several key committees, served as Vice Chairman of the Board, and played a central role in major regional initiatives—including the addition of the conveyance tunnel to the Diamond Valley Lake reservoir and significant upgrades to the Weymouth Water Treatment Plant.

President of the Longhorn Legacy Group LLC and LoneStar Auctions, Director Dick’s businesses have been named Small Business of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. Director Dick has served as a board member of the Santiago Canyon College Foundation and the Board of Directors of the Orange County Taxpayers Association. He is also a life member of the American Legion.
