The Master Plan is a plan which defines how MWDOC will comply with the state goal of a 20 percent reduction in municipal and industrial water use by the year 2020. The plan also provides a road map for Orange County to achieve higher levels of water use efficiency, and includes proposed programs and investments that will help ensure water reliability for the future.
Rebates and Incentives
MWDOC offers programs to assist residential homeowners, commercial/industrial business owners, and professional landscapers, to reduce overall water use. Much of the funding MWDOC recieves to implement these programs comes from federal and state grant funding agencies. Funding is also provided by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD), and MWDOC's 28 member agencies.
Water Use Efficiency landscape programs, incentives, and classes, promote best water management practices for landscapes, irrigation, and water waste prevention outdoors. By taking advantage of the programs, incentives, and tips offered, we can significantly minimize peak water use, reduce demands on infrastructure, and raise awareness for all water users.
