• Manages Orange County's imported water supply – the water we receive from Northern California and the Colorado River

• Serves approximately 2.3 million residents

• Has a service area of approximately 600 square miles

• Is governed by a seven-member elected Board of Directors

 

• Adopted a $140 million budget for Fiscal Year 2006-07

 

• Consolidated in 2001 with Coastal Municipal Water District, which provided wholesale imported water to the water agencies and cities serving the coastal areas of Orange County from Newport Beach south to San Clemente

• Provided approximately 339,000 acre-feet of water during Fiscal 2003-04
  • Total demand for Orange County was 683,000 acre-feet of water during Fiscal 2003-04

 

• Is the third largest of 26 member agencies comprising the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California

 

• Appoints four representatives to serve on Metropolitan’s 37-member board of directors
