It’s official: California is in a drought. 2013 was the driest year on record and 2014 was the hottest year on record. As dry conditions continue, many regions throughout the state are being severely impacted.
On April 1, 2015 Governor Brown directed the directed the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) to implement mandatory water reductions in cities and towns across California to reduce water use statewide by 25 percent. Water agencies throughout the state are ramping up outreach programs to help our communities meet new conservation targets recently approved by the SWRCB. Orange County water providers have a variety of resources, rebates, and water use efficiency tips to help residents and businesses become more water use efficient. You can find many of those resources and tips throughout our website, and in our social media efforts.
