"Smart" Timer Rebate Program: Homeowners

Eligibility Guidelines:

• The "smart" irrigation controller installation site must be in Orange County and within a participating water agency's service area. To determine if your retail water agency is participating, click here or call 1-866-846-3725.

 

• The "smart" irrigation controller site must be a single-family home with a minimum of 1,200 square feet of irrigated landscape.

 

• To be eligible for rebate, your new "smart" controller must be listed on the residential "Makes and Models List" of rebate-eligible controllers.

 

• There is a limit of one (1) "smart" irrigation controller rebate per home.

 

• You must have a working in-ground irrigation system.

 

• Your eligibility will be reviewed once you have sent in a completed Application, along with a copy of your most recent water bill for the installation site, to the rebate administrator address listed on the application.

• You must be available for a mandatory on-site post-installation inspection.

 

• At the time of the mandatory on-site inspection, all valves will be counted and an area measurement by activated valve will be conducted. (This is the basis for the rebate calculation.)

   

  • Any valves that do not activate and its associated acreage will not be counted in the rebate calculation. Any requests to re-measure the irrigated area to increase the rebate shall be paid by the site owner.
