You may have heard that California is in the midst of a water supply crisis. Businesses and residents are being asked to cut back on water use. Today it is more important than ever for us to do our part to save water. The Water Smart Hotel Program was specifically designed to reduce water usage in Orange County hotel and motels. This free program provides hotels with great opportunities to reduce water usage and utility expenses onsite, without compromising the level of service received by guests.

Water efficiency audits in the hotel industry have shown it is possible to reduce water consumption by an average of 20% without compromising guest comfort.
Program benefits include:
Free indoor and outdoor water efficiency surveys. Trained professionals will review the indoor fixtures, kitchen, cleaning, HVAC equipment and outdoor irrigation system to evaluate water use and identify water saving opportunities.
Customized facility reports. Participants receive specific recommendations for indoor and outdoor retrofits, upgrades, repairs and other changes that result in significant water savings.
Financial savings and rebates. Detailed cost information including associated fixture and installation costs, water savings, payback estimates and available funding opportunities will be provided. Through regional water conservation programs and grant funding, hotel sites may be eligible to receive substantial rebates resulting in little to no out-of-pocket expenses.
Follow-up assistance. Additional help will be provided to participants to make recommended changes that result in reduced water consumption and lower utility bills.
